My Go-To Fall Look

Monday, October 8, 2018

Happy Monday, friends! Today on the blog I'm excited to share this fall look! This is a super easy look for fall that I find myself going back to again and again. I just pair a long sleeve bodysuit with a suede skirt and thigh high boots. I even threw on this fiddler hat to add a little something special to this look. This is a super chic look you probably recreate with clothes you already own! If you don't have a bodysuit or suede skirt I have you covered. The turtleneck bodysuit I'm wearing is only $15 and will be a staple piece for me this fall. My suede skirt is only $27 and is the perfect shade of green! I've linked all other products at the bottom of this post for ya'll to shop.

Next week Isaac and I head out for our trip to Colorado and Arizona. I'll be taking a ton of outfit pictures and sharing a lot about where we'll be staying so stay tuned for more posts!

Fall Inspired Bar Cart with Bed Bath & Beyond

Wednesday, September 26, 2018

Happy Wednesday, friends! Last week I had the opportunity to tour and shop at the newly opened Bed Bath & Beyond located in Humble, Texas. They did an entire revamp of the store after Hurricane Harvey. I grew up in the area and shopped at Bed Bath & Beyond a lot before the hurricane so walking in and seeing how much the store had changed was an incredible experience. The new store truly offers a fun and inviting in-store shopping experience. They have an exclusive section located at the Humble store full of discounted on trend home decor! I purchased SO much from that section. Most of the pictures of me shopping were taken in that section so you can get a sneak peek of the collection. I also loved that they let you test out their coffee machines at this store. They even have a Keurig set up for you to make a cup of coffee while you shop. I of course took full advantage of this and made myself a cup of coffee to enjoy while shopping.

I've been needing to style my bar cart for fall especially with the holidays coming up. I was able to purchase everything from Bed Bath & Beyond in Humble at super affordable prices. I'm so excited about how my fall inspired bar cart turned out!

The bar cart featured in this post is my own but Bed Bath & Beyond offers a similar one here. The Humble store had a TON of seasonal decor that I was loving! I really love the farmhouse trend so I decided to decorate this bar cart with that in mind. This stunning farmhouse inspired clock was under $30 and was the perfect size to hang above my bar cart. I love marble so as soon as I saw the tiered marble slab I knew it would work well for gatherings at our home. The floral arrangement, velvet green mini pumpkins and "R" pumpkin were all located in their seasonal section. I'm super obsessed with the mini green velvet pumpkins. I found the cutest rustic basket with gold detailing to hold our wine and a large brass candle holder. The candle inside is battery operated but seriously smells so good! It even lights up like a real candle.

After shopping at the new Bed Bath & Beyond in Humble I've already been back a few times. They add new products to their exclusive section every week so I've been finding some great items to decorate our home with.

Coffee Talks: All About My Anti-Inflammitory Diet

Thursday, August 23, 2018

Happy Friday, friends! I decided to start a new series on my blog called "coffee talks". I already have a coffee talks highlight on my instastory which some of you may have seen. It's basically where I talk about topics other than fashion so you'll see a variety of different topics each week! I recently talked about on Instagram my struggle with chronic stomach pain and what I've been doing to help. I'm so thankful for all of the kind messages I received and you all seemed really interested in the topic! In this post I wanted to recap on my story and give you guys an update on my diet.

I've always struggled with stomach pain since I was a child. I've been to countless amounts of doctor and have been prescribed almost every pill out there. Nothing we seemed to do helped and I eventually became numb to the pain I was feeling. This stomach pain became part of my life and it just felt normal to have that pain. A few months ago the pain became more intense so intense that I couldn't get out of bed for hours at a time. I remember one night, when I knew I needed to make change, I was in bed crying because the pain was so severe it radiated into my back. At that point my husband wanted me to go to the hospital but I refused. I'm the type that believes I can handle any amount of pain and will be the last one to go to the hospital for any reason involving myself. The next day I watched one of my favorite blogger's instastories and she was talking about her ant-inflammitoy diet. I was very intrigued by this diet and start doing my own research. I knew I wouldn't be able to get in to see a specialist until November so until then I had to make some sort of change. I was basically at the point of giving up on my body entirely until I started the Anti-Inflammitory Diet. That night Isaac and I went to the grocery store and bought a few items to start me off on the diet. Here's exactly what we bought (everything organic): Brussel sprouts, spinach, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, quinoa, vegetable broth, pasture fed beef, wild caught tuna, and extra virgin olive oil. That all we got to start me off on the diet and since then I've been trying so many other different foods that are part of the diet!

I immediately saw results from the diet the next few days and didn't feel any stomach pain at all! Not only was I no longer in pain but my digestive system and energy level improved significantly. If you're in chronic pain and feel like it could be due to inflammation anywhere in your body, while I'm not a doctor, I do recommend trying out the diet! Everything I eat now is 100% organic and I know it will help fuel my body in some way. I've completely cut out processed food from my diet and have stopped eating out all together. I'm also in the process of moving gluten and diary completely out of my diet. It's been over a week since I've eaten anything with gluten in it!

My Anti-Inflammitory/Gluten Free/ Diary Free Shopping List:

Organic Eggs
Gluten Free Bread
Organic Avocados (I love making avocado toast with gluten free bread!)
Organic Blueberries (blueberries are the best for inflammation)
Organic Kale
Organic Spinach
Organic Potatoes
Gluten Free Olive Oil Dressing
Organic Chicken
Organic Pasture Fed Beef
Organic Vegetable Broth
Organic Quinoa
Gluten Free Snack Bars
Red Wine (1-2 glasses of red wine is great for inflammation)

My Favorite Salad Recipe:

This recipe is SUPER easy to make and it usually takes me a few days to eat it all!

1 bag of organic kale
organic quinoa (I typically make a large serving at one time)
1 package of organic chicken breast
Gluten Free Olive Oil Dressing

  1. Cook your chicken on stove top and season. Make sure to cut the chicken into thin slices to put in salad.
  2. Begin making quinoa based on package directions. I love to substitute the water for organic vegetable or bone broth.
  3. Wash kale and place in a separate bowl
  4. In a serving bowl place kale, quinoa on top, then cooked chicken and lastly drizzle in the gluten free olive oil dressing.
  5. Toss your salad and eat!
